Claims, returns and warranty
What you can do if a product does not match your order, and how we proceed.
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. In brief
- Complaints about price or quantity must be made within 5 days of receiving the goods, and complaints about quality within 30 days of receipt (point 11 of the General Terms of Delivery and Sale).
- Printed circuit boards carry a 12-month warranty from the date of production, provided the storage conditions are observed (point 13).
- Send complaints to sales-pcb@electra.ro.
2. How to report a non-conformity
- Write to us at sales-pcb@electra.ro (or call +40 232 214 370) within the periods above, with the order number, a description of the problem and, where applicable, photographs, measurements or the results of tests specific to printed circuit boards.
- Complaints are accepted only if they are real and the products do not meet the technical requirements of the firm order. Within 3 days of your report we analyse the complaint and send you an answer.
- Products proven non-conforming through ELECTRA’s fault are sent to us only at our express request, within 15 calendar days of the date of the complaint, through a carrier we agree on. We remedy or replace the non-conforming circuits within 30 days at most of receiving them or of accepting the complaint.
Failure to report irregularities concerning price, quality or quantity within the periods above releases ELECTRA from liability (point 12).
3. Warranty
- The warranty period is 12 months from the date of production of the printed circuit boards.
- The warranty is valid only if the boards were stored according to the instructions below.
- The right to work on the printed circuit boards during the warranty period belongs to ELECTRA alone.
4. Storage conditions for printed circuit boards
Printed circuit boards readily absorb moisture (they are highly hygroscopic), so they must be kept at a constant temperature and humidity until the components are mounted. Storage time must be as short as possible and the boards are used on a FIFO basis (first in – first out). Unused boards are repacked in vacuum film. Handle the boards with gloves to avoid contamination.
| Storage temperature (recommended) | maximum 30 °C |
|---|---|
| Humidity (recommended) | maximum 65 % |
Packaging. Vacuum-sealed, antistatic, heat-shrink polyethylene film is recommended. Humidity indicators and/or moisture-absorbing sachets can optionally be added. During storage a mechanical support (plywood, cardboard) can be used.
Boards that have been stored for a long time, or whose transport conditions cannot be established exactly, must be subjected to a solderability test.
Drying the boards before the components are mounted is recommended.
A. Drying in a forced-convection or vacuum drying oven. Stand the boards on edge, 10 mm apart — not on top of each other. Recommended parameters:
| Material | Temperature (°C) | Drying time (min.) | Time until component mounting |
|---|---|---|---|
| FR4 (Tg 135 °C) | 120 | ≥ 120 | maximum 24 hours |
| FR4 (Tg > 135 °C), rigid-flex, flex, multilayer ≥ 6 layers | 130 | ≥ 120 | maximum 8 hours |
B. Drying in a vacuum oven at 50 mbar allows a process 20 °C lower, and the drying time is at least 60 minutes.
C. Boards with heat-sensitive surfaces (for example immersion tin) are preferably dried in vacuum drying ovens.
Storage period in vacuum packaging and a controlled environment (storage oven):
| Surface finish of the board | Storage period |
|---|---|
| HASL | 6 – 12 months |
| HAL with lead (Pb) | 6 – 12 months |
| Organic passivation (OSP) | < 6 months |
| Ni/Au | 12 months |
| Immersion tin | < 6 months |
Storing the boards under conditions other than those recommended above greatly shortens the maximum storage period (for immersion tin or organic passivation it can even drop below 4 weeks).

5. If you are not satisfied with the answer
We try to settle any disagreement amicably — write to sales-pcb@electra.ro. If we do not reach an agreement, the dispute is settled by the competent courts in Romania (point 21).
